Shefsky & Froelich Supports Young Hearts for Life Fundraiser
October 14, 2008
Shefsky & Froelich is proud to be a sponsor of the Heart to Heart fundraiser, taking place on Thursday, October 16, from 6:30 to 10:30 pm at Harry Carey’s Italian Steakhouse in Lombard, IL. All proceeds will go to the Midwest Heart Community Foundation’s Young Hearts for Life™ program.
Young Hearts for Life brings qualified medical volunteers to area high schools to administer free electrocardiograms (EKGs) to identify high school students at risk for sudden cardiac death.
Through this program, Midwest Heart Community Foundation has screened over 19,000 students in collaboration with high schools and community volunteers since 2006. In addition, over 1,000 volunteers have been trained and numerous cardiologists have been engaged to volunteer with the program; administering EKGs, analyzing test results, and providing educational resources to communities.
