R. Licata Shareholder
Anthony R. Licata joined Shefsky & Froelich in 1995 after more than 15 years of practice as a real estate and venture capital attorney and as general counsel to a real estate developer. He was named Chief Operating Officer of the firm in 1998 and is responsible for all day-to-day management of the firm.
Tony also serves as the Department Head for the firm’s Real Estate Group, which in the past five years has handled transactions with an aggregate dollar value in excess of $3 billion. His practice focuses on major commercial real estate transactions and on private equity venture capital matters.
In addition to his professional practice, Tony is a principal in numerous private real estate investments.
Tony entered the practice of law as an associate with Sidley & Austin in 1979, concentrating in real estate. In 1984, he became Vice President and General Counsel of The Broadacre Companies, a real estate developer with offices in Chicago and San Francisco, while remaining Of Counsel to Sidley & Austin with an active practice in real estate and venture capital matters. In 1989, as part of a reorganization of The Broadacre Companies, Tony became the President of Broadacre Partners, Inc., with responsibility for the management of the North Pier Chicago mixed-use development. In 1992, he returned to Sidley & Austin as a partner, before joining Shefsky & Froelich in 1995.
