PUTTING IMAGINATION TO WORK SM

Shefsky & Froelich has grown at a deliberate pace, remaining a solid mid-sized law firm for a reason. Not every attorney has the imagination, the creativity, or the courage to practice law the way we do.

Our new associates are the kind of people who want to get their hands and minds into client work early in their careers. Partners are accessible, invite questions, spend the time it takes to discuss or clarify an issue, and work collegially with associates.

Our summer associates are the kind of people who want to interact with clients and be actively involved in challenging assignments for their entire tenure. You experience first-hand what it’s like to be a lawyer here.

We assume our summer associates want to meet our high expectations for intellectual energy. And that associates want to prove they have what it takes to succeed at an intellectually vibrant firm like ours.

We recruit carefully to ensure that our personnel share a common outlook of working cooperatively. We have taken specific steps to build a collegial environment in which lawyers do not compete with each other internally, but instead do collaborative work creatively, and are rewarded for working as a team. With a first-class support staff that is responsive and effective, our firm’s infrastructure allows professionals to maximize their talents and ambition.

Our areas of law interact and support each other: Corporate and Securities, Litigation, Real Estate, and Tax and Estate Planning. We pursue a progressive skill-based training plan that includes a twice-yearly review with proactive feedback for associates’ work, encourage attendance at continuing legal education seminars, and initiate immediate exposure to clients. The S&F Courtroom is used for advocacy training, as well as for actual client mediation hearings, arbitrations, mock trials and test juries.

Imagine Learning by Doing

Associates work one-on-one with the partner responsible for a matter. That means associates learn to practice law by direct guidance and hands-on involvement. Your input will matter. A lot. If you want the opportunity to practice law in a creative way that solves real problems for real clients, you want to work with us.

If you imagine you can blend an application of traditional legal knowledge with the creative new solutions and approaches our clients need and want, we want to work with you.

IMAGINE you are a Shefsky & Froelich attorney…

See what our Associates say about their actual experience at S&F:

Summer experience is not the typical “wine and dine.” They show you exactly what it is like to be an associate here. Which is great!
Suzanne, S&F Class of ‘03

As a summer associate, I worked with partners and associates in several departments and had a variety of experiences, including attending depositions, writing memos to clients, and drafting an article that was eventually published. As a new associate, my experience has been equally varied and challenging. S&F has a unique atmosphere – challenging, collaborative, and very friendly.
Kristin, S&F Class of ‘04
