A Business Orientation, at the Leading Edge

Shefsky & Froelich's litigation practice entails full-service representation of public and private companies, municipalities and governmental bodies, and individuals, on a local, national, and international scale. Our litigators are experienced trial attorneys who possess broad experience, representing both large and small firms and individuals in virtually all types of litigation matters and in virtually all areas of industry and commerce. Trained to approach lawsuits from a business perspective, our litigators handle disputes cost-effectively and with a clear understanding of the client's business objectives.

A Team Approach, To Meet Client Needs

In today's business environment, very few legal disputes are one-dimensional or routine. Most problems are multifaceted, cutting across a spectrum of legal disciplines. The handling of a case will frequently involve a blend of corporate, securities, contract, tax, government regulation, intellectual property, or other legal considerations in addition to expertise in trial and litigation tactics. Shefsky & Froelich has specialists in most major areas of practice, and can quickly assemble a top-quality team of individuals experienced in the task at hand. The team will work closely with our clients to develop and implement a litigation strategy to meet the client’s business needs.

Controlling the Legal Expense

Too often litigation expenses represent a "black hole" in budgetary planning. If not carefully managed, litigation costs quickly spiral out of control. Shefsky & Froelich is sensitive to the pricing structure and margin constraints facing parties in litigation. First, we work closely with our clients to constrain litigation expenses by establishing appropriate budgets up front with the client. Second, we assign attorneys who are familiar with the subject matter of the dispute, to avoid "going to school" at the client's expense. Third, we limit staffing to the attorneys whose input is essential. We also maintain constant communication with clients concerning the cost implications of various strategies.

Creative, Aggressive and Experienced Dispute Resolution

Our litigators bring experienced, talented professionalism to the handling of business disputes.  We are prepared to aggressively try cases to verdict, where necessary.  Often, however, alternatives may provide a more cost-effective solution to solving a problem, such as mediation and other dispute alternative resolution techniques. Our litigators have represented clients and acted as mediators and arbitrators in all forms of alternative dispute resolution forums.
